Why We Changed Our Name
After years of operating as Sage Consulting, it became clear that the name no longer reflected the full shape of the work.
What began as a consulting practice had gradually evolved into something broader, more relational, and more creative. The work itself had changed, and eventually the language needed to catch up with it.
So we became Sage Advisory & Studio.
This was not simply a rebrand or cosmetic update. It marked a shift in how the work is understood and how it continues to grow.
Sage Consulting was founded in 2010 and carried the foundation of what I have always cared about: clarity, strategy, thoughtful support, and practical guidance. But over time, I found myself moving beyond traditional consulting models and into deeper, more collaborative work with founders, business owners, and people navigating transition.
If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is how to evolve intentionally.
Not through constant reinvention for the sake of relevance, but through paying attention. Paying attention to the work, to the people, and to the places where growth quietly asks for change.

This shift came from that kind of attention.
The word “consulting” began to feel too narrow for the way we were actually working. It suggested distance, analysis, and transactional support. And while strategy and structure remain central to what we do, the work itself has become far more layered than that.
Some conversations are operational. Others are creative. Some involve systems and planning. Others involve helping someone think clearly again after a season of overwhelm, transition, or uncertainty.
Often, it is all of those things at once.
“Advisory” felt closer to the truth.
It reflects guidance that is thoughtful, relational, and long-term. It leaves room for conversation, discernment, refinement, and honest support. It acknowledges that strong businesses are built through clarity and sound decision-making, not just activity.
And then there is the Studio.
The Studio represents the part of the work that could never fully live inside the word “consulting.”
It holds the writing, the workshops, the conversations, the long-form thinking, the founder development work, and the creative side of building something meaningful. It is where ideas are shaped into language, structure, experiences, and practical next steps.
In many ways, the Studio is where the human side of the work lives.
Together, Advisory & Studio reflects the fuller ecosystem we are building. One that makes room for both structure and creativity, thoughtful strategy and practical support.
The goal has never been simply to help people build businesses.
It has always been to help them build in a way that is sustainable, intentional, and aligned with the lives they are trying to create.
That continues here.
As Sage Advisory & Studio grows, you will see more workshops, more long-form writing, more thoughtful conversations, and more support for people who want to build with clarity rather than constant urgency.
This next season feels quieter, steadier, and more aligned with the work we have been growing toward all along.
And if you are here for it, welcome.
